Dave Grohl was emotional During the Taylor Hawkins Concert

The music world wanted to pay tribute to the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins this Saturday. The event, which brought together artists such as Liam Gallagher and Paul McCartney at Wembley Stadium, was the band's return to the stage after more than five months without playing. Their vocalist and guitarist, Dave Grohl, couldn't hold back tears while singing Times Like This.

The Foo Fighters decided to cancel their tour following the death of their partner and did not perform again until this Saturday, September 3, at the first of two concerts by Taylor Hawkins. The second and last will take place on September 27 at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles.

The stage had all the elements to make tears flow and the Foo Fighters' voice and guitar Dave Grohl couldn't contain them while singing Times Like This. This was the first time he sang without his partner and friend and at one point his voice broke.

The singer fell silent and the audience covered his silence with thunderous applause. It was a few seconds until he resumed the song, but perhaps the most exciting seconds of an already emotion-filled tribute.

Taylor Hawkins was one of the engines of the Foo Fighters. Although they were not in the starting lineup, their music inspired Dave Grohl to found the band. The death of Grohl's pre-formation Nirvana leader Kurt Cobain was a huge blow to him and he also considered giving up his music career.

In 1994 he founded Foo Fighters and three years later, in 1997, Taylor Hawkins, drummer, partner, friend, and brother, joined the formation.

A heroin overdose almost killed him in 2001.

He finally died suddenly on March 25, 2022. His body was found lifeless in a hotel room in Bogota, where the band was about to perform as part of the Asterio Picnic Festival.
